Tom Gilbey is an award-winning wine expert, with an unrivalled career in wine, and has fast become one of Instagram’s favourite faces. The Gilbey family were pioneers of the wine trade. They were the first British family to buy a Bordeaux Chateau in 1875, founded the legendary Gilbey’s Gin and used the iconic Camden roundhouse as a delivery hub.
With over 30 years in the industry, Tom has an unmatched knowledge, energy and dedication to wine. His mission to take the only drink that restaurants give a whole book to off of its scary and confusing pedestal has seen him gather a wave of new wine loving fans – all drawn together by Tom’s passion, comedy, and charm.
In his time, Tom has been a winemaker, merchant, educator, public speaker, columnist and most recently, an accidental Internet sensation – alongside his long suffering producer/director/son Fred – doing silly things like a sipping Chardonnay in an ice bath, and blind tasting 25 wines whilst running the London marathon.
